Day 65 Half a zero and Ferry to Picton, water taxi to Ship’s Cove

Hi everyone

I’m pretty excited about being on the South Island and tomorrow I continue my hike from Ship’s Cove.

The ferry ride over was amazing and quite smooth.

Some of you know I’ve been having some tech issues. Poor Nikki has been doing a terrific job, patiently working around my capability and tools at hand.

The main problem I think is I just need a new phone. The one I’m using has little capacity left and I keep losing text and photos. Sometimes it takes more than 24 hours for an email to get to Nikki so she can post it on the site.

On this last 1300k I will be out of range for 8-11 days at a time so I plan on writing anything of interest in a notebook (I know! Old school hey!) and will post info probably in about three weeks time.

So... don’t worry if you don’t see a regular update. I will be fine, focusing on safe hiking and I will be in touch later this month.

Take care all

That’s my ride

Massive mushroom, with my foot next to it for scale.

Apparently hiking is serious business and I must not smile.

That’s helpful. Now when someone tells me to go to hell... I know exactly where to find it

I had to, because, anyone can use the stairs right?
