Day 44 zero Oh what utterly awful weather. It’s cold. It’s rainy. Gusty winds. It’s just... yuck.

I was so looking forward to the hike today but it’s just too dangerous to attempt it in this weather.

I hitched out and stayed at the holiday park and arranged a shuttle drop to the trail head for tomorrow. I had pre booked tonight’s stay in the Doc Hut at Mangatpopo and was lucky enough to score another booking for tomorrow night.

To amuse myself I started sorting my photos (I’m really slack at this, my phone is stuffed full of unfiled photos).

As I was looking through them, I reflected that as someone who suffers from hayfever, i had started hiking, out in nature, during spring, the height of pollen season.

Everywhere I look, there are flowering trees, flowering shrubs, flowering... flowers.

Even though my face is on fire, my sinuses are crazy and my eyes have been streaming, I can still appreciate how pretty this trail is.
